Established in Bergen, Norway in 1938, Framo was founded by Mr. Frank Mohn as a family business and remained a family venture until acquisition by Alfa Laval, Sweden in 2015.
Post WWII, Framo began developing and manufacturing their own equipment such as emergency fire fighting pumps.
In the early 1960’s, Framo introduced their proprietary high-pressure, hydraulically driven marine pump and disrupted the market with this breakthrough innovation.
Offering benefits such as low weight, stepless capacity control and no risk of explosion, leakages or floods, as well as lower maintenance costs in the long run, soon made Framo the preferred choice for most oil majors and shipowners across the globe.
Very compact design compared to conventional submersible pumps – half the weight and height.
Unique pump designs compared to conventional submersibles:
Framo began servicing the Indian market in 1986, earning their first contract with ONGC for an Oil platform for installing their first containerised diesel-driven fire water
pumping system.
Over the years, Varya has represented Framo in the Indian market for various projects valued at a total of over $35 Million.
